The following are topics of discussion in the video.

Welcome. Parashat Chayei Sarah 5785 (2025): “Faith and Kindness” focuses on the faith and kindness Yahweh looks for in His people (Torah-Haftarah portions). Additionally, the Brit Chadasha portion (Romans 9-11) focuses on the relationship between the house of David and the house of Ephraim (Israel), and prophecy of the Gentiles who are ‘grafted in’. It also answers further inquiries about the barley and the house of Judah.

This Week’s Outline:

  • More barley questions (and complaints)
  • Torah: trust and kindness
  • Haftarah
  • Judah, Levi, and Zera questions
  • Brit Chadasha portion

Barley questions and answers:

Question of the Week #1:
(Paraphrase) “Aren’t we all supposed to bring a wave sheaf of firstfruits up for the Pesach/Unleavened? And if so, doesn’t that mean every barley farmer must have ripe barley before you can declare the month of the aviv?

Question of the Week #2:
(Paraphrase) “Please tell us your standards for barley certification. Why will you certify (or not certify) this or that barley witness? Please tell us what your standards are (and are not) in a way we can understand.”

Question of the Week #2:
(Paraphrase) “It is too much detail! You are boring! I am leaving!”

(Paraphrase) “Wow, that was interesting! Thanks for all of the very informative details! What is the solution?”

Several audiences at different levels:

  • Trying to help DDT and other barley witnesses.
  • Trying to make it complete for those who do not have that much barley background.
  • Trying to keep from getting sued (Earlier DDT threatened to sue for
    “defamation of character”)
  • I had a hard time explaining DDT’s theology, because I find it incoherent and double-minded.

DDT: “When Does the New Year Begin?” [Fair use]
“Although, we don’t look to the barley to try and determine the beginning of the Biblical Year, we do think it’s nice to witness the barley fields ripening, as we get closer to Chodesh HaAviv (month of the Aviv) and Chag HaMatzot (Feast of Unleavened Bread), especially for those that aren’t here.

Yehoshua (Joshua) 5:10-11
10 Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Pesach on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
11 And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Pesach, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day.

Yehoshua (Joshua) 5:12
12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.

Torah portion:

B’reisheet (Genesis) 18:9-10
9 Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.”
10 And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.)

B’reisheet (Genesis) 18:19
19 “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and justice, that Yahweh may bring to Avraham what He has spoken to him.”

Covenant through Yitzhak

B’reisheet (Genesis) 17:19 (Lech Lecha)
19 Then Elohim said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Yitzhak; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

  1. The mother is barren.
  2. Elohim promises a special son.
  3. The covenant is through him.

Luqa (Luke) 1:31-32
31 “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Yeshua.
32 “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and Yahweh Elohim will give Him the throne of His father David.”

  1. The mother is a virgin (barren).
  2. Elohim promises a special Son.
  3. The covenant is through Him.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 22:5
5 And Avraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”

  1. Faith

B’reisheet (Genesis) 22:17-18
17 “blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
18 “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Eliezer’s faith

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:1-2
1 Now Avraham was old, well advanced in age; and Yahweh had blessed Avraham in all things.
2 So Avraham said to the oldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please, put your hand under my thigh…

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:3-4
3 “and I will make you swear by Yahweh, the Elohim of heaven and the Elohim of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell;
4 “but you shall go to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Yitzhak.”

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:7
7 “Yahweh Elohim of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I give this land,’ He will send His messenger before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:10-11
10 Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed, for all his master’s goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Aram Naharayim, to the city of Nahor.
11 And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:12-13
12 Then he said, “O Yahweh Elohei of my master Avraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Avraham.
13 Behold, here I stand by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:14
14 “Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink‘—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

Rebekah’s kindness

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:15
15 And it happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Avraham’s brother, came out with her pitcher on her shoulder.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:16-17
16 Now the young woman was very beautiful to behold, a virgin; no man had known her. And she went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up.
17 And the servant ran to meet her and said, “Please let me drink a little water from your pitcher.”

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:18-19
18 So she said, “Drink, adoni.” Then she quickly let her pitcher down to her hand, and gave him a drink.
19 And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.”

San Diego Zoo: Camels
A camel can go a week or more without water, and it can last for several months without food. It can survive a 40 percent weight loss and then drink up to 32 gallons (145 liters) of water in one drinking session!

32g x 10 camels = 320 gallons
320g / 5g = 64 trips!

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:20-21
20 Then she quickly emptied her pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
21 And the man, wondering at her, remained silent so as to know whether Yahweh had made his journey prosperous or not.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:43-44
43 “behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass that when the virgin comes out to draw water, and I say to her, “Please give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,”
44 “and she says to me, “Drink, and I will draw for your camels also,”—let her be the woman whom Yahweh has appointed for my master’s son.’

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:45
45 “But before I had finished speaking in my heart, there was Rebekah, coming out with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well and drew water. And I said to her, ‘Please let me drink.’

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:46
46 “And she made haste and let her pitcher down from her shoulder, and said, ‘Drink, and I will give your camels a drink also.’ So I drank, and she gave the camels a drink also.

B’reisheet (Genesis) 24:48-49
48 “And I bowed my head and worshiped Yahweh, and blessed Yahweh Elohei of my master Avraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son.
49 “Now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand or to the left.”

Shemuel Aleph (1 Samuel) 15:6
6 Then Shaul said to the Kenites, “Go, depart, get down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

Nehemia 9:17

Judah, Levi, and Zera questions

Question of the Week #2a:
Looking at the fruit of Judah can Judah be anymore Satanic than they are? How is it they are not the “fake Jews” spoken of in Revelations?

Hitgalut (Revelation) 2:9
9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.”

Question of the Week #2b:
Look at the way the nation Israel was founded on the money of evil bankers. You really think this is the work of Yah?

Yeshayahu 8:11-12
11 For Yahweh spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:
12 “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.

Yeshayahu 8:13-14
13 Yahweh of hosts, Him you shall set-apart; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread.
14 He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Question of the Week #2c:
They worship Satan and they are proud of it. There is nothing about them that reflects anything of Yah. They don’t know Him and they don’t want to know Him.”

Zechariah 12:10
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of favor and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Zechariah 12:11-12
11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves;

Zechariah 12:13-14
13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives by themselves;
14 all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.

Question of the Week #3a:
One question from one who is slow in mind who are the fake Jews mentioned in Revelations? Is it not the rabbinical Talmud loving people who call themselves Israel???

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 30:18
18 “Thus says Yahweh: ‘Behold, I will bring back the captivity of Yaakov’s tents, And have mercy on his dwelling places; The city shall be built upon its own mound, And the palace shall remain according to its own plan.

Question of the Week #3b:
So you are saying that if Ephraim wants to form a nation they must have a group of evil bankers, like Judah, to invest in forming a nation.”

Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 37:16-17
16 “As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’
Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’
17 Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand.”

Yehezqel (Ezekiel) 37:18-19
18 “And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’—
19 say to them, ‘Thus says Adonai Yahweh: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.” ‘

Mattityahu (Matthew) 6:33
33 “But seek first the kingdom of Elohim and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Yehudah (Jude) 1:3
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Question of the Week #4a:
Is Judah the nation Israel?

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 66:8
8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Tzion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.

Question of the Week #4b:
If so how do you figure he is doing so well financially?

(Babylonian Judah is the kingship tribe. He is still lost in Babylon, in the head of gold.)
(For another thing, Judah studies, works hard, and invests.)

Question of the Week #4d:
Why is it he keeps sucking the [breast] of Ephraim, USA?

B’reisheet (Genesis) 35:10-11
10 And Elohim said to him, “Your name is Yaakov; your name shall not be called Yaakov anymore, but Israel shall be your name.” So He called his name Israel.
11 Also Elohim said to him: “I am Elohim El Shaddai. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.”

Question of the Week #4e:
Why is it Ephraim is sending all the ordinance to kill Palestinians? Please help me understand as I am slow in mind. Sincerely,

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 11:13-14
13 Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart, And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, And Judah shall not harass Ephraim.
14 But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; Together they shall plunder the people of the East; They shall lay their hand on Edom and Moav; And the people of Ammon shall obey them.

Romim (Romans) 9:1-3
1 I tell the truth in Mashiach, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Set-apart Spirit,
2 that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart.
3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Mashiach for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,

Romim (Romans) 9:4-5
4 who are Israelites,to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the Torah, the [Torah] service of Elohim, and the promises;
5 of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Mashiach came, who is over all, the eternally blessed Elohim. Amein.

Romim (Romans) 9:6-8
6 But it is not that the word of Elohim has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,
7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Yitzhak your seed shall be called.”
8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of Elohim; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

Romim (Romans) 9:30-31
30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;
31 but Israel, pursuing the Torah of righteousness, has not attained to the Torah of righteousness.

Romim (Romans) 9:32-33
32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the torah. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.
33 As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Tzion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense, and whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Romim (Romans) 10:1-3
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to Elohim for Israel is that they may be saved.
2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for Elohim, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of Elohim’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of Elohim.

Romim (Romans) 10:19
19 But I say, did Israel not know? First Moshe says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”

Romim (Romans) 11:1-2
1 I say then, has Elohim cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Elohim has not cast away His people whom He foreknew….

Romim (Romans) 11:5, 7
5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of favor.

7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Romim (Romans) 11:8-9
8 Just as it is written: “Elohim has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”
9 And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a recompense to them.”

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 29:9-10
9 Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.
10 For Yahweh has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.

Romim (Romans) 11:11-12
11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

Romim (Romans) 11:13-15
13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.
15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

Question of the Week #2b:
Look at the way the nation Israel was founded on the money of evil bankers. You really think this is the work of Yah? They worship Satan and they are proud of it. There is nothing about them that reflects anything of Yah. They don’t know Him and they don’t want to know Him.”

Romim (Romans) 11:16
16 For if the firstfruit is set-apart, the lump is also set-apart; and if the root is set-apart, so are the branches.

Romim (Romans) 11:17-18
17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,
18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

Romim (Romans) 11:19-21
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”
20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.
21 For if Elohim did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either!

Romim (Romans) 11:22-23
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of Elohim: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for Elohim is able to graft them in again.

Romim (Romans) 11:24
24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Romim (Romans) 11:25
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Romim (Romans) 11:26-27
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Tzion, and He will turn away unrighteousness from Yaakov;
27 “For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”

(Isaiah 59:20, Brenton Septuagint.)

Romim (Romans) 11:28-29
28 Concerning the Good News they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of Elohim are irrevocable.

Romim (Romans) 11:30-32
30 For as you were once disobedient to Elohim, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,
31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
32 For Elohim has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
