Ministry Update: The Stick of Joseph Project and the Call to Build the Kingdom
Shalom and welcome to Nazarene Israel! My name is Norman Willis, and after being offline for the past eight months due to serious health issues, I am back by the favor of Yahweh.
In this article, I want to share an honest and urgent update regarding the direction of Nazarene Israel (or Nazarene Judaism), explain why we have decided to shelf the Stick of Joseph Project for now, and address the spiritual and prophetic reasons behind these decisions.
Spiritual Warfare and the Birkat HaMinim
Many have asked what happened during these past eight months. The root of this process began years ago, in 2016, following a vision Yahweh gave me about the need to bring Joseph (Ephraim) home. However, upon initiating conversations with the Sanhedrin leadership in Israel regarding our identity as the House of Joseph, I encountered a very harsh prophetic reality.
I discovered that in the daily prayer (Amidah) of Orthodox Judaism (specifically on weekdays), the Birkat HaMinim is recited—a direct curse against us, the Nazarenes and so-called “sectarians” or “apostates.”
“May the Nazarenes and the sectarians perish as in a moment. Let them be blotted out of the book of life and not be written together with the righteous.” (Jerusalem Talmud version of the Birkat HaMinim).
The Orthodox leadership made it very clear to me that the Talmud, which for them supersedes the authority of the Tanakh (Old Testament), calls for our end. They present us with three options:

Convert to Talmudic Orthodox Judaism: Deny Yeshua and elevate the rabbis above Yahweh.

Convert to Noahide slave status: Deny our heritage as Israel and become subjugated.

Execution: Because we refuse to submit to rabbinic authority.
This spiritual pressure, coupled with real threats against my life and the ministry, generated severe stress that culminated in an acute heart condition, keeping me in medical treatment these past months. Yahweh has healed me, but this trial forced me to reflect deeply on the current state of our people.
The Problem with Joseph: Hearers, but Not Doers
While analyzing this situation, I realized a sad reality within the Hebrew Roots or Ephraimite movement. We have many people willing to consume free spiritual food, rest on the Sabbath, and debate doctrine, but very few are actually willing to help Yeshua build His Kingdom.
In Luke 6:46, Yeshua asks us directly:
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”
Hebrew thought does not separate belief from action. If you say you believe Yeshua is the Messiah, it means you are doing what He commands. Sadly, 95 to 99% of our people are building their house on the sand (Luke 6:49). They have time and money for vacations, sports, and hobbies, but not to invest in the Kingdom or to support the biblical structure Yeshua ordered (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers – Ephesians 4).
We cannot deceive ourselves into thinking we will receive a good judgment merely for “knowing” the Torah if we are not living and funding it through biblical order, discipline, and tithing.
Reorientation Toward Judah and the Future of Nazarene Israel
Because so much of the House of Joseph (Ephraim) resists organization and the necessary sacrifice, I have made critical decisions to preserve my health and the ministry:
1. The Stick of Joseph Project is on Pause
Ezekiel 36 reveals that the great purification and the true outpouring of the Spirit upon the House of Israel (Joseph) will happen after we are gathered, not before. Yahweh will clean us up for His own Name’s sake. Given that the current Ephraimite movement is fragmented and resistant to biblical order, we must focus on preparing a solid foundation and pure doctrine (unleavened bread) for the approved remnant.
2. Writing for Judah (Haredi)
The ministry was called to go “to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Judah is a people that values deep reading and study, not entertaining videos. Therefore, we will be returning to the written format. I will be reorienting and rewriting our books from a Jewish perspective, starting from the Torah, and I will be taking the time to become fluent in Hebrew.
A Call to the Remnant
To the very few who are truly investing their time, effort, and finances to help Yeshua get what is His: Thank you. You are in my prayers and in my heart. You are the Assembly of Philadelphia that Yahweh will protect during the end times.
To the rest, my job as a watchman is to warn. We cannot play games with our eternal salvation by choosing the broad, easy road. We must build on the Rock (Yeshua) by doing all that He commanded us to do.

And since we won’t monetize our videos, more interaction is necessary for YouTube to show them…
