The Rapture (Harpazo)

“The Rapture” is chapter 15 in the Revelation Simplified video series. There are many things mistaught about the Rapture (or the Harpazo). In this video, we show the various passages which predict a Rapture (Harpazo), and show where they all fit on the Revelation simplified timeline. If you ever wondered about the doctrine of ‘the Rapture’, this video is for you.

Scriptural references to the Rapture

Scripture speaks of the Rapture (Harpazo, or the ‘catching away’) in Thessaloniquim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) chapter 4 verse 17. Here we see that those who are alive and remaining after the tribulation are caught up [harpageesometha] toghether with them [those who are dead in Yeshua] to meet Yeshua in the air.

Thessaloniquim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) 4:17
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet Yahweh [Yeshua] in the air. And thus we shall always be with Yahweh [Yeshua].

Were Enoch or Elijah physically raptured?

We will compare passages about Enoch and Eliyahu with Yeshua’s words in Yochanan (John) 3:13 and several other passages in order to answer the following commonly asked questions: Was Enoch physically raptured? Was Eliyahu (Elijah) physically raptured? When is the rapture physical and when is the rapture spiritual? We will discuss all of this based upon these passages and more.

Yochanan (John) 3:13
13 “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”

B’eisheet (Genesis) 5:24
24 And Enoch walked with Elohim; and he was not, for Elohim took him.

Ivrim (Hebrews) 11:5
5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because Elohim had taken him“; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased Elohim.

Melachim Bet (2 Kings) 2:11, 16
11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Eliyahu went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
16 Then they said to him, “Look now, there are fifty strong men with your servants. Please let them go and search for your master, lest perhaps the Spirit of Yahweh has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.” And he said, “You shall not send anyone.”

Divre HaYamim Bet (2 Chronicles) 21:12a
12a And [seven years later] a letter came to him [i.e., King Yehoram] from Elijah the prophet, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh Elohim’….”

Was Philip physically raptured?

We will also discuss the new testament example of when Philip was ‘caught away’ and the enunuch ‘saw Philip no more’.

Ma’asei (Acts) 8:39
39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of Yahweh caught Philip away [heerpasen], so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.
40  But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

The three heavens

We will also talk about three levels of ‘heaven’ that can be referred to:
1. The sky
2. Outer space
3. Spiritual heaven (Elohim’s realm)

4 raptures in Scripture

We will also talk about the mystery of 4 raptures, when each of the raptures occur throughout history, and who takes part in each of the raptures.
1. Harpazo #1 – 1st century
2. Harpazo #2 – At Armageddon
3. Harpazo #3 – at Gog 2 (end of Millennium)
4. Harpazo #4 – at earth’s destruction
