Why the Second Pesach for 5786/2026 introduction:

Shalom. This is the second part of “Why the Second Pesach for 5786/2026. In this multi-part update, Norman explains the confusion surrounding Rosh HaShanah timing this year, and the current situation with the barley inspection groups. And why Nazarene Israel is declaring a second Pesach for 5786/2026.

We recognize each group for the efforts they make each year/season in inspecting the barley. And we see good things in each group. That said, we also have significant concerns regarding inspections made by each group.

Some of you have sent us questions and concerns regarding this years’ timing and feasts. We relate to those concerns. Norman hopes to answer some of your concerns in this video. It is a lot of information and he may have to do more than one video to cover all of the details, (if Yahweh should want it.)

The two barley camps in Israel:

• True Firstfruits (symbolic of Yeshua). Presently held by: Nazarene Israel and Sighted Moon. (Becca?)
• Harvest-ready ‘firstfruits’ (Talmudic model). This model requires being able to both harvest your fields AND being in Jerusalem for the feasts AT THE SAME TIME. Presently held by Rabbanites, the Karaites (including Devorah Gordon), and Brian Convery. (Yoel Halevi? Becca Biderman?)

Nazarene Israel’s conviction:

1. For the priesthood to declare Rosh Hashanah, they must know that there will be a full sheaf of healthy aviv barley by Yom HaNafat HaOmer, which comes 15-21 days after Rosh Hashanah. The omer have edible starch (parched or above).

2. We also REJECT the Talmudic practice of cutting barley early and “laying it aside”, as that clearly breaks Devarim (Deuteronomy) 16:9.
