Shabbat shalom, Nazarene Israelites.
1. PRAISE REPORTS, PRAYER REQUESTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS:
6 March 5786 (2026/6026)
a. A call for support!
We thank and praise Yahweh Elohim for the few of you who are faithfully and joyfully supporting His work, as the Renewed Covenant says to do. We keep you all in prayer for Elohim’s safety and provisions.
This week we are publishing the first of a new series of videos oriented at witnessing first to Judah, and then to Joseph (Ephraim), and to everyone. If you want NI to be able to continue this kind of work, (not only for your own education, but also to share the message with others), please do your part (Ephesians 4:11-15) and support the work (as Scripture says to do).
Some of you have asked for transparency, so here is transparency: please, we need support so we can keep our website administrator and video editor (Moises) and his wife (Herta) on the payroll. Moises and Herta work at this kind of project, and also Beit Sefer. Without your support, we will be unable to continue to pay them!
Malachi 3:7-10
7 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says Yahweh of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what way shall we return?’
8 “Will a man rob Elohim? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says Yahweh of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.Mattityahu (Matthew)
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve Elohim and mammon.Ya’akov (James) 1:22
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.Ephesim (Ephesians) 4:16
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Again, we thank Yahweh Elohim for those few of you who are faithfully supporting the work. We keep you all in prayer for Elohim’s safety and provisions—and for the rest we pray for obedience to His word, that He might want to bless you in the Day of Judgment.
b. Prayers for Becca Biderman to please hear and respond!
Many of you have written us with concerns about Becca Biderman’s policy of retroactively declaring the new year up to the 10th day of the Hebrew month. We share in your concerns. (For full disclosure and educational purposes, Norman has tried to communicate with Becca about the problem of retroactively declaring the new year for the past 6 years. And because some of you have asked, Norman has also reached out to Sighted Moon, who also (incorrectly) declares the new year retroactively, asking how retroactively declaring the year could possibly work biblically, but has not received any response.) We get it, and we hear your frustrations.
Sadly, Becca continued searching for aviv barley up to 10 days after the new month in 2025, in hopes of finding aviv barley so that she could declare the month as the “first month” retroactively. As Yahweh would have it, Becca did not find aviv barley by the 10th day in 2025, so she did not declare Rosh HaShanah on the 10th day. However, the point is that she was hoping to be able to. (And for clarity purposes, Becca says she does not make official declarations. However, she will declare that according to the Seven Species Calendar, it is or is not ‘such and such’ a month. We see this as a declaration with a denial of her true actions.) And sadly, Becca’s 6 March 2026 report states that she plans to continue searching for aviv barley up to the 10th day of the month this season. So, here we go again!
Why do we use Becca Biderman as our barley witness when she has cut us off? Quite simply, Becca is the only barley inspector we know who correctly defines ‘aviv barley’. None of the other inspectors even know what aviv barley is according to Scripture, so we choose to use her as our witness. We pray for her, and wish her only the best of health and safety. We very much appreciate the work she does in clearly inspecting the state of the barley each year. We helped her extensively in the past get her social media established, and to get a MailChimp account, appropriate graphics, etc. (and she still uses some of the graphics we created for her). We have bought her some equipment, and given her moral support in the past. Further, we sent her money each month for years, to support her even in the “off season” of the barley. She seems like a very intelligent sister who cares about the true definition of aviv barley–and sadly, that is rare to find in the barley groups! So, please, pray for her along with us!
“Retroactively” declaring the new year after the start of the new month is unbiblical, and causes all types of problems for all of Yeshua’s body. Please pray that Becca can hear that Yahweh’s calendar is not about doing (or declaring) what is convenient and possible for her (since she lives in the Land), but about Yeshua’s entire body keeping His feasts and doing things according to Scripture!)
Becca refuses to address our questions or concerns. She told us not to email, or call, or text, or comment on her YouTube, or Facebook, or send letters, or make any form of communication toward her. A year later, there have been no answers, no change, and no biblical reason for retroactively declaring the new year based on what is convenient for her–just NI being blocked, ignored, and (basically) persecuted. And again, we don’t like to say such things, but it seems more than apparent that Becca Biderman is not concerned with NI’s needs as a calendar and feast-keeping religious organization, despite our long history of supporting and encouraging her and her work. (We ask, why block a group asking biblically-based questions if you want to truly do as Scripture says, according to “ancient paths”?)
Well, we understand why this is frustrating and confusing for many. But we are blocked from communication with the only barley inspector who correctly defines aviv barley. She cut us off (and quite frankly, we believe it has to do more with her convictions about women ministers than it has to do with aviv barley). So, for those of you following NI and following Becca’s barley inspections, and those who are concerned about “retroactively” declaring the new year, we are making yet another attempt at reaching Becca on this issue–but we need your help to do it. As stated, Becca ignores our questions and has told us not to contact her directly. So, maybe she would be less unwilling to hear from you?
Please write at your own risk, knowing that she has already blocked us for asking these exact questions:
We need to know:
1. How is it possible to declare the new year up to 10 days after the start of the month? (In other words, how can you hypothetically know it is the 9th day of the month, but not know if you are in the 1st month, or the 12th month? What sense does that make?)
2. How would the entire nation of Israel be able to select a lamb on the 10th day of the month AND walk up to Jerusalem in time for Pesach (including the elderly, women, and children), and be ready for the services on the 14th day of the month?
3. How would this be possible IN ANCIENT TIMES for those who lived in the furthest parts of the nation, who would need between 6-8 days to walk up to Jerusalem for the feasts? (For example, it takes up to a week to walk to Jerusalem from either Dan [in the north] or Eilat [in the south]). How can you make a 6 or 7 day journey on foot in 3 days (with your lamb following along!)?
4. And how would it work today, when usually, one must purchase plane tickets 2 weeks prior to travel at a minimum? (And this is not even considering asking for time off from work, etc.)
5. How is retroactively declaring the new year ‘the ancient path’ even possible when there is no instruction as to how to make such a retroactive declaration in Scripture, and no record in Scripture (or even in the Talmud!) of the Levitical priesthood ever retroactively declaring the new year?
Levitical Priesthood system:
Scripture shows us that rather than “retroactively” declaring the new year, the Levitical priesthood pro-actively set the new month apart. The new year (Rosh HaShanah) was declared at the same time as the new moon (Rosh Chodesh), when they were sure there would be sufficient aviv (medium dough) barley to present an omer offering, based on direct observation of the barley and the new moon. Witnesses reported the state of the barley and of the new moon to Jerusalem, and the court declared the new year, effectively starting the calendar.
We do not consider the Talmud inspired, but only as a historical record of what the rabbis thought in ancient times. However, Talmud Tractate Mishnah Rosh Hashanah 2:3–4 specifically records that signal fires carried the declaration of each new month to outlying areas, and even to communities outside the land of Israel in Babylon. From there it took time to disseminate the information to everyone, but with two weeks’ advance notice the pilgrims had enough time to travel up to Jerusalem to arrive in time for the Pesach.
We know from simple logic that the new year could not be “retroactively” declared on the 10th of the month, because not everyone would get the message in time to take a lamb on the 10th, let alone have enough time to walk up to Jerusalem. As stated, it takes up to a week to walk to Jerusalem from either Dan (in the north) or Eilat (in the south), or even longer if one is elderly. How is this possible if the month is retroactively declared on the 10th?
If you are new to this concept, to get an idea of what “retroactive” declaration looks like, imagine it is the 9th day of the [Xth] month, and you do not know if it is yet the month of January, or if someone has declared a “second month of December (Adar Bet).” It is nonsense! Please pray with us fervently that Yahweh will soften Becca’s heart, so she can see the error she is making. Thank you for your fervent effectual prayers.
b. Calendar inquires
For those asking why NI does not qualify the inspections by the ‘early’ barley group, please see Becca’s recent video “Corrections of errors to Sight Moon’s 2026 barley inspections“. (The main discussion begins at the 16 minute mark.) 2. STUDIES:
a. Two Reasons Mashiach (Messiah) Has Already Come!
This part one in our new video series explains the meaning of Daniel 9:25-26 and how this passage specifically identifies Mashiach Nagid (Mashiach the Prince) and the exact timing of His coming. It also explains what the Portion of the Lawgiver means, as found in Devarim/Deuteronomy 33:32, and how this passage also shows us that Yeshua (or Jesus) fulfilled the messianic prophecies that no other historical figure can fulfill.
Find out why the rabbinical claims about King Koresh (King Cyrus) being the messiah described in Daniel 9 do not and cannot fulfill prophetic requirements for Mashiach. (No matter how hard they try to make it fit, it just doesn’t!).
Not only were messianic prophecies fulfilled by Yeshua (Jesus), but simple math proves that no other figure in history (past, present, or future) can possibly fulfill these past, time-dependent biblical requirements for Mashiach. Yeshua was and is the only one who fulfilled these requirements. Do not miss this important study.
b. This week’s Parasha:
“Parashat Vezot Haberakhah: Proof Yeshua Is Mashiach“
This weekly portion shows prophetic proofs that Yeshua is Mashiach. It covers the prophesied destruction of the second temple post Mashiach (Daniel 9:25-26), and the prophecy of the portion of the lawgiver hidden in Gad (Genesis 49:10, Deuteronomy 33:20-21).
It also focuses on how Yeshua came specifically for the lost tribes of Israel, and end-time events concerning both houses of Judah and Joseph. And shows us further examples of how the Talmud contradicts the written Torah of Moshe, and prophecies about Judah’s purification back to the written Torah.

3. SABBATHS, NEW MOONS, AND CALENDAR EVENTS:
a. Feasts of Yahweh:
The new moon was seen from Israel on 18 February. As of 18 February, we have not received any reports from Israel of an omer’s worth of aviv barley firstfruits that would be ready as a wave sheaf offering on March 8th. Therefore, scenario 1 is no longer an option for Rosh HaShanah 5786/2026. We will now watch for scenario 2 as the next possibility. (As always, dates may vary depending upon confirmation of the new moon sighting or the 30-day default.) Please remain current with Torah Calendar News for updates.
Scenario 2:
The new moon (expected to be visible from Israel on 20 March 2026) is the next scenario for Rosh HaShanah 2026. As always, we must wait for Yahweh’s timing to know when there will be an omer’s worth of aviv barley ready in the Land of Israel by 15-21 days after the start of the new month.
If at the time of the next new moon we are able to determine that an omer’s worth of aviv barley firstfruits would be ready to present as a wave sheaf offering Yom HaNafat HaOmer on 5 April, we will declare Rosh HaShanah. If not, we will post a third scenario afterwards.
| Scenario 2: | (Dates could be one day later) |
| New Moon (expected): | 20 March (visibility 3.47%) |
| Rosh HaShanah (New Year): | 21 March (and the evening before) |
| Pesach (Passover): | 3 April (afternoon) |
| Chag HaMatzot Aleph (ULB1): | 4 April (and the evening before) |
| Yom HaNafat HaOmer (Wave Sheaf): | 5 April (and the evening before) |
| Chag Hamatzot Sheva (ULB7): | 10 April (and the evening before) |
| Shavuot (Pentecost) | 24 May (and the evening before) |
Please see Torah Calendar News for full details and latest calendar news updates.
b. Next Hebrew month and Rosh HaShanah timing 5786/2026
The new moon of the next Hebrew month is expected to be visible from Israel on 20 March. Confirmation will be made upon the sighting of the new moon (or the 30-day default count). Upon confirmation, we will announce whether or not this new moon is Rosh HaShanah.
c. Discipleship Meetings:
New moon discipleship meeting- 21 March 2026 (expected, possible Rosh HaShanah)
(Please remain attentive to TCN for Rosh HaShanah timing)
All meetings are at 8 AM Colombian time (always UTC-5, but watch your Daylight Savings Time adjustments). The Discipleship Meeting is a discussion between disciples. It is generally 1-hour long but may run longer depending on how the Spirit leads. For more on NI’s description of discipleship, please see NI’s Discipleship program.
Note: If the monthly Discipleship Meeting coincides with the weekly Shabbat Meeting, the Shabbat Meeting will take precedence, and new moon discussion will be combined with the Shabbat meeting. However, in the case of a Feast Day Meeting coinciding with a Shabbat meeting, the Feast Day Meeting will take precedence.
d. Why the Firstfruits Torah Calendar?
We often receive inquiries about why NI observes the Hebrew months at different times from the other calendar groups (such as the Messianic, Karaites, and Rabbinical groups). There are several reasons, but the main reason is that we begin the calendar year with the (true) Firstfruits of barley. In contrast, other groups take a sheaf from the main harvest, and falsely call them the “first” fruits (when they are more like the “main” fruits.)
Because of this, most Messianic and the Karaite groups will usually be a month (or even two) late. Learn all about the Firstfruits Torah calendar, (and how the Jewish, Karaite, Messianic, and the equinox calendars violate Scripture) in our studies on the biblical calendar.
Note: Roman-Greco and rabbinic calendar dates are utilized for those who are learning, and for publishing purposes. It should be noted that neither the Hillel II Jewish calendar, nor the Roman-Greco calendar are Yahweh’s calendar described in Scripture. Nazarene Israelites should be following the Torah Calendar (the Firstfruits Calendar) and keeping Rosh Hashanah accordingly.
e. Aviv barley, wave sheaf, and witnesses:
Current witness qualification:
Currently, sister Becca Biderman of Ancient Path New Moon is the only barley inspector who seems to understand what a proper wave sheaf is, and why you should not let the true Firstfruits fall to the ground, (so you can take your “first” fruits offering from the middle of the harvest, as other groups do).
For reasons explained in our studies, NI does not support Messianic doctrine. (For more on this topic, please see NI’s 2025 explanation in “Babylon Mystery Calendars“.) However, as far as barley inspections, Becca documents her barley inspections and her definitions of aviv barley seem accurate according to our understanding of Scripture.
Other barley groups:There are several other groups whose barley witnessing we cannot recommend. These groups ignore Deuteronomy 16:9, they define “Firstfruits” as a random sheaf from the middle of the harvest, and they add rules and definitions that Yahweh does not add, (in violation of Devarim 4:2). Due to these errors, these calendar groups are generally always a month (or sometimes two months) late in observing the feasts.New moon witnesses:
Several groups sight the first crescent sliver of the new moon well. Various new moon witnesses are recorded each month in the new moon reports. Again, while several groups accurately witness the new moon, to our knowledge, only sister Becca Biderman publishes accurate barley reports.
Declaring Rosh HaShanah at the correct time:
As we explain in our studies (see list above), there only needs to be enough aviv barley ready for the Omer (Wave Sheaf) Firstfruits offering by either the 15th or the 21st day of the first month. As explained in our studies, it is a disaster if we declare Rosh HaShanah too late, because it would force farmers in the land of Israel who have the earliest ripening barley to do one of two things:
A) Either they must break Devarim (Deuteronomy) 16:9 and begin harvesting their crop BEFORE the Firstfruits offering has been presented unto Yahweh for the nation. Or
B) Lose all or part of their barley crop, while they wait an extra month for the leaders to declare Rosh HaShanah!
By declaring the true Firstfruits unto Yahweh Elohim as He commands, and keeping His appointed days according to His perfect timing, the farmers do not need to lose their crops; neither are they encouraged to break any of Yahweh’s commandments. For studies on declaring Rosh HaShanah, aviv barley, and the Torah Calendar, please see section 2b.
