9 “Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says Yahweh. “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your Elohim.

And the mouse – The Hebrew word used here [עַכְבָּר] means the dormouse – a small field-mouse. Jerome understands it as meaning the glis, a small mouse that was regarded as a great delicacy by the Romans.
