Parasha Lech Lecha
Lech-Lecha, Lekh-Lekha, or Lech-L’cha (לֶךְ-לְךָ leḵ-ləḵā—Hebrew for “go!” or “leave!”, literally “go for you”).
Parasha Lech-Lecha, in Genesis, narrates Yahweh's call to Avram (Abram) to leave his homeland and journey to an unknown destination. Avram, accompanied by his wife Sarai and nephew Lot, follows Elohim's command. In the promised land, Elohim assures Abram of numerous descendants and a lasting covenant. Facing a famine, Abram temporarily resides in Egypt, where a complex episode unfolds involving Sarai and Pharaoh. Returning to the promised land, Avram and Lot part ways amicably. The Parasha emphasizes themes of faith, obedience, and the foundational covenant between Elohim and Avram, laying the groundwork for the future destiny of the Israelite people.
