Testifying Yahweh’s Forgiveness v1

Testifying Yahweh’s Forgiveness is part of video series Spirituality and Heart Matters. In this video, we will see why it is important to confess our sins to Yahweh and to one another inside the body of Yeshua. Some of the topics discussed in this video include:

The error of hiding our sins

Oftentimes, we see that people will come to the faith, be immersed, confess their sins at the time of the immersion, and then think that it all ends there. Because of this, they hide their sins and shortcomings in darkness, instead of exposing their sins and shortcomings to the light to get other disciples’ help in improving their walk. And as a result, we have a large number of people who never confess their sins, and who never learn to overcome their weaknesses and fears. But that is not what Scripture says to do!

Proverbs 28:13
13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Bringing our sins to light

As servants of Elohim, we should not hide our faults. Rather, we should confess our faults, one to another, and help each other to walk better. When we hide our sins, it prevents us from getting the help we need to overcome them. And it prevents the rest of Yeshua’s body from offering loving, edifying help. But when we confess our sins to the body of Yeshua, then Yeshua’s body can come together to help the beloved member in the area of struggle.

We also see that the way to receive Yahweh’s healing is by confessing our sins to one another and by praying for one another. We are not meant to fight our spiritual battles alone, but as a body. How many of us have a need for physcial and spiritual healing, but have never received His healing? Have we confessed our faults to one another inside the body of Yeshua?

Yaakov (James) 5:16
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

What does it mean to ‘confess to one another’?

Notice what James does not say. He does not say ‘walk up to the first random person on the street that you meet, and tell him everything!’ What we will explain in “Testifying Yahweh’s Forgiveness” is that it is important to confess our faults to one another inside the body of Yeshua. This is how we know that we will receive the right spiritually edifying advise, and the support of prayer from other members of Yeshua’s body (and not some random, worldly mis-advise).

Receiving Yahweh’s forgiveness

There is also evidence all throughout Scripture that we receive Yahweh’s forgiveness by first confessing our sins unto Him. So if we want Yahweh’s forgiveness, we need to confess.

Yochannan Aleph (1 John) 1:9
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

5 Tehillim (Psalms) 32:5
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

We have all fallen short

Romans 3:23 states that we have all sinned and fallen short of Yahweh’s righteousness. In other words, we all have areas of weakness and we all need Yahweh’s forgiveness, as well as forgiveness toward one another.

Romim (Romans) 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of Elohim,

Edifying in Yeshua’s body

Scripture also states that, in Yeshua, we are many members in one body.

Qorintim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 12:12, 20
12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Mashiach.
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.

If we are Yeshua’s body, then we should want to help one another in our spiritual walks. If one member of the body is struggling, then the whole body struggles.
