1. PRAISE REPORTS, PRAYER REQUESTS, UPDATES: 31 January 5785 (2025)

a. Calendar reminders

As we just began the 12th Hebrew month, this means it is time to start watching for barley reports from Israel in anticipation of when Yahweh will declare the new year. Because we receive questions each barley season, we want give a quick reminder about where to find the latest Torah Calendar news, how the Torah Calendar differs from calendars by other barley groups, and why it is important to keep Yahweh’s feasts at HIS appointed times.

There are many barley groups who declare Yahweh’s feasts at incorrect times. Karaite groups ignore Deuteronomy 16:9 and wrongly define “Firstfruits” as a random sheaf from the middle of the harvest (an anti-Yeshua doctrine). Messianic groups add rules, definitions, and celestial events that Yahweh does not command anywhere in Scripture. For this reason, these calendar groups are seemingly always a month (or sometimes two months) late.

Scripture warns us against taking doctrine from the Pharisees (rabbis), from the Sadducees (Karaites), and from outside the body of Yeshua. Scripture also warns us against adding or taking away from Yahweh’s commandments. Yahweh’s feasts are a foreshadow of prophetic events to come, and it is important for us, as His Son’s bride, to meet with Him at His appointed times. This is why NI keeps the Torah [Firstfruits] Calendar, to keep all of Yahweh’s commandments without adding or taking away from His Word, and why NI warns against other calendars, as explained in our studies.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 16:6
6 Then Yeshua said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”

Qolossim (Colossians) 2:16-17 KJV (corrected version-see study)
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a set-apart day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but [except] the body of [Messiah].

We encourage everyone following NI to remain up-to-date with Torah Calendar news, and to remember to subscribe to the weekly/monthly newsletters. This is where updates are posted on barley reports from Israel, on when NI will be declaring Rosh HaShanah, and on Yahweh’s feasts for 5785/2025 as we begin the approach to the new Hebrew year. We also recommend learning about the errors of other calendars via our studies, so that you and your family can keep Yahweh’s feasts at His appointed times. [Please refer to section 3d below for direct links to calendar studies.]

2. STUDIES:

a. Parashat Ki Tavo

ParashatKi Tavo (2025): What if the Judgment Was Today? asks, “What if the Judgment was today?” What if, instead of waking up and heading about for a normal day, we found ourselves facing Yahweh’s judgment? How would we measure up?

Are we doing everything that we know He says to do? Are we hearing and obeying His voice every moment of every day? Are we keeping all of His statutes and commandments? Are we earnestly contending for the faith described in Jude 3? Are we doing all that we can to serve Yahweh our Elohim and to build His kingdom? Are we running our fullest that we may be found worthy to obtain our imperishable crown?

3. SABBATHS, NEW MOONS, AND CALENDAR EVENTS:

a. Feasts of Yahweh:

11 March 2024 was Rosh HaShanah (the beginning of the Hebrew year). The new moon of the 7th Hebrew month was seen from Israel on the evening of 4 September 2024. Yahweh’s feasts are officially over for the year. For more information about the Torah Calendar and news calendar updates, please visit Torah Calendar News.

b. New moon 12th Hebrew month seen on 30 January 2025 (evening)

The new moon of the 12th Hebrew month was seen on 30 January 2025. The next new moon is expected to be seen from Israel on 1 March 2025. Confirmation will be made upon reports from Israel (or the 30-day default count). Please stay attentive to Torah Calendar News for updates concerning new moons, barley reports, Rosh HaShanah confirmation, and feasts for the coming Hebrew year.

Note: 11 March 2024 was the confirmed declaration of Rosh HaShanah (the beginning of the Hebrew year). For more details, please visit Torah Calendar News.

c. Upcoming Discipleship Meetings:

All meetings are at 8 AM Colombian time (always UTC-5, but watch your Daylight Savings Time adjustments). The Discipleship Meeting is a discussion between disciples. It is generally 1-hour long but may run longer depending on how the Spirit leads. For more on NI’s description of discipleship, please see NI’s Discipleship program.

2 March 2025- new moon discipleship meeting (expected)

Note: If the monthly Discipleship Meeting coincides with the weekly Shabbat Meeting, the Shabbat Meeting will take precedence, and new moon discussion will be combined with the Shabbat meeting. However, in the case of a Feast Day Meeting coinciding with a Shabbat meeting, the Feast Day Meeting will take precedence.

d. Why the Firstfruits Torah Calendar?

Every year we receive questions about the Firstfruits Torah calendar and why it differs from Karaite, Jewish, and Messianic, and Equinox calendars. The different calendars that exist can (and do) cause a lot of confusion. But if we follow Scripture without adding or taking away from Yahweh’s word, we see that there are significant errors in the Karaite, Jewish, Messianic, and Equinox calendars.

We explain these errors in the following studies, as well as why it is important to follow the true Firstfruits Torah calendar in order to observe Yahweh’s feasts at His appointed times only.

Note: Some published studies may include dates for Babylonian calendars (5785/2025). It should be noted that neither the Hillel II Jewish calendar, nor the Roman-Greco calendar are the biblical Torah calendar of Yahweh, and that NI only updates these years for publishing and relational purposes. While the Babylonian years change accordingly, NI keeps the biblical Rosh HaShanah (new year) according to the Torah Calendar.
