Shabbat shalom, Nazarene Israelites.
1. PRAISE REPORTS, PRAYER REQUESTS, UPDATES: 14 March 5785 (2025)
a. Viewer calendar questions:
Norman was planning a very packed parasha for this week. (Parasha Noach is full of material!) However, we received several good questions and comments last week about the calendar. (Thank you to those who sent the good questions!) Since the new year is approaching, it seemed important to focus this week on keeping the true calendar and all of Yahweh’s commandments, and about avoiding Mystery Babylonian doctrines.
Yahweh willing, we hope to continue with Parashat Noach next week. In the meantime, we hope this week’s study on Babylon Mystery Calendars helps clarify the importance of keeping the right calendar and the right doctrine.
2. STUDIES:
a. Babylon Mystery Calendars
Babylon Mystery Calendars 5785 (2025): covers important details about the timing of Rosh HaShanah, and why it is a role of the priesthood (rather than barley inspectors or random people) to make the determination for Rosh HaShanah.
It explains why it is logistically impossible to retroactively declare Rosh HaShanah 10 days after the new moon. And how having a barley witness (or anyone else) decide to retroactively declare the month 10 days later 1) violates biblical order and 2) would cause many to break Yahweh’s written Torah commandments for how to keep the feasts.
It also explains how many calendar groups claiming to be biblical commit Mystery Babylonian worship, how these groups break biblical order, (causing chaos rather than unity), and how it is necessary to keep ‘all’ of Yahweh’s commandments rather than picking and choosing which to keep.

3. SABBATHS, NEW MOONS, AND CALENDAR EVENTS:
a. Feasts of Yahweh:
On the day of the new moon (evening 1 March through 2 March 2025), Nazarene Israel declared a 13th Hebrew month. For full explanation why this is the 13th Hebrew month (and why Rosh HaShanah cannot be declared several days after the new moon), click here.
The next new moon is expected to be seen on or about the evening of 30 March 2025. We expect the new moon of 30 March to be Rosh HaShanah 5785 (2025), the beginning of the Hebrew year. And for the feasts of the first month to follow scenario #2 (below). (Confirmation will be determined at the time of the new moon.)
ROSH HASHANAH/FEAST 1ST MTH | SCENARIO #2 |
New moon | 30 March at evening (2.28%) |
Pesach | 13 April afternoon |
1 ULB | 14 April (begins evening before) |
Omer | 20 April |
7 ULB | 20 April (begins evening before) |
Shavuot | 08 June (begins evening before) |
We encourage you to check out our calendar studies, which explain how to observe the calendar correctly, and avoid common errors. A full list of studies can be found in section 3d below for convenience. We also encourage you to track our calendar updates on our Torah Calendar News page.
And just as a brief note, some ministries are declaring that you must be able to substantially “bring in the harvest” before you can declare the month of the Aviv. To see why this is completely wrong (and is damaging to the farmers), please check out our study, “Let’s Not Break Deuteronomy 16:9!”
b. Next new moon (expected): 30 March 2025 (evening)
The 13th Hebrew month began on the evening of 1 March 2025. The next new moon is expected to be visible from Israel on 30 March 2025. We expect this to be Rosh HaShanah (or the start of the Hebrew Year). Confirmation will be determined upon the sighting of the new moon (or the 30-day default count) and the barley in the land of Israel.
Please stay attentive to Torah Calendar News for updates concerning new moons, barley reports, Rosh HaShanah 5785/2025 confirmation, and feasts for the coming Hebrew year.
c. Upcoming Discipleship Meetings:
All meetings are at 8 AM Colombian time (always UTC-5, but watch your Daylight Savings Time adjustments). The Discipleship Meeting is a discussion between disciples. It is generally 1-hour long but may run longer depending on how the Spirit leads. For more on NI’s description of discipleship, please see NI’s Discipleship program.
31 March 2025 (expected)- discipleship meeting (expected Rosh HaShanah)
Note: If the monthly Discipleship Meeting coincides with the weekly Shabbat Meeting, the Shabbat Meeting will take precedence, and new moon discussion will be combined with the Shabbat meeting. However, in the case of a Feast Day Meeting coinciding with a Shabbat meeting, the Feast Day Meeting will take precedence.
d. Why the Firstfruits Torah Calendar?
Every year we receive questions about the Firstfruits Torah calendar and why it differs from Karaite, Jewish, and Messianic, and Equinox calendars. The different calendars that exist can (and do) cause a lot of confusion. But if we follow Scripture without adding or taking away from Yahweh’s word, we see that there are significant errors in the Karaite, Jewish, Messianic, and Equinox calendars.
We explain these errors in the following studies, as well as why it is important to follow the true Firstfruits Torah calendar in order to observe Yahweh’s feasts at His appointed times only.
Note: Some published studies may include dates for Babylonian calendars (5785/2025). It should be noted that neither the Hillel II Jewish calendar, nor the Roman-Greco calendar are the biblical Torah calendar of Yahweh, and that NI only updates these years for publishing and relational purposes. While the Babylonian years change accordingly, NI keeps the biblical Rosh HaShanah (new year) according to the Torah Calendar.
