Why the Second Pesach?

NI was unable to observe the first Pesach this year due to barley groups not reporting the first true wave sheaf of aviv barley before the new moon sighting. Because it is not our fault that we received notice of the barley after it was too late (i.e., after new moon sighting), NI is keeping the Second Pesach, as provided in Bemidbar (Numbers) 9:9-14.

As we explain in our studies, it is not legitimate to retroactively declare the month. Further, one should never (ever) deliberately skip the first Pesach without a biblically authorized reason. The Second Pesach is given to us ONLY for when one is unable to keep the first Pesach due to 1. being defiled by a human corpse, or 2. due to being in a far away land where we are not able to receive the word from Israel in time to make it up for the feasts with the rest of the nation (i.e., in its season).

The second reason applies to us this year because we received the notice too late (after the new moon) because the one group that knows how to locate the first true wave sheaf reported AFTER the new moon (too late). The Torah commands to still keep Yahweh’s Pesach and Feast of Unleavened Bread (i.e., Unleavened Doctrine), just in the second month (and in the same manner as if it were the First Pesach).

Bemidbar (Numbers) 9:10-13
10  “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If anyone of you or your posterity is unclean because of a corpse, or is far away on a journey, he may still keep Yahweh’s Passover
11  On the fourteenth day of the second month, at twilight, they may keep it. They shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

12  They shall leave none of it until morning, nor break one of its bones. According to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it
13  But the man who is clean and is not on a journey, and ceases to keep the Passover, that same person shall be cut off from among his people, because he did not bring the offering of Yahweh at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.

Yahweh honored King Hezekiah’s Second Pesach and Unleavened when it was not possible for the people to keep the feast in its time, due to factors beyond his control. (Please notice that it was celebrated as a nation, not as a mass of individuals.)

Divre HaYamim Bet (2 Chronicles) 30:13
13 Now many people, a very great assembly, gathered at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month.

Since there are presently no qualified barley witnesses who are reporting before the new moon, NI will probably have to make this journey to the land of Israel next year. Please pray for Norman’s upcoming low back surgery (that he will be healed in time), and that Yahweh will provide us with the necessary funds and the way to make this journey.

Please remember that this is supposed to be a groundswell team mission that we all participate in, according to Yeshua’s rules. If we are not helping to build Yeshua’s literal kingdom according to all that He commanded, then we are “part of the problem”, and we cannot expect Him to intervene for us in the Judgment (meaning, we are on our way to the Outer Darkness).

Sadly, at this time we do not know of any other qualified barley witnesses who are reporting on time, and who are not spreading false doctrine (i.e., leavened doctrine). Sadly, because of this, we must encourage you to ignore the declarations and teachings of all existing barley witnesses, as they do not qualify (and as they are all teaching some wrong things/leavened doctrine).

Again, if you and your household did not receive word in time to keep the First Pesach in its time, and you are biblically able to keep the Second Pesach and Unleavened Bread (Doctrine), you should keep it with all the same ordinances as the First Pesach. Please remember, we keep the Pesach to Yahweh, and we should keep it in remembrance of our Salvation of Egypt (from the world) and in anticipation of His prophecies yet to come.
