Exodus 12:11
“And so shall you eat it: loins girded (belt on your waist), your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Passover to Yahweh.”
The first of Israel’s seven annual festivals is a one-day festival, the Passover. It is followed immediately by the second of Israel’s festivals, the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Since the Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the very next day, these two festivals are often thought of as one long eight-day festival (and even Yahweh refers to them in this regard).
These two opening festivals speak of Israel’s Redemption from slavery and bondage.
Note: If the new moon is seen a day later, it will be a day later.
